Accessability

Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz is committed to making the websites of its domain “uni-mainz.de” as accessible to all users as possible. The legal basis for this is the LGGBehM (Landesgesetz zur Gleichstellung behinderter Menschen / State Law on Equal Opportunities for Disabled Persons) and the BITV RP (Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance of Rhineland-Palatinate).

This statement was created on September 23, 2020.

Current conformity with the requirements of the BITV RP

The websites of the domain "uni-mainz.de" are currently designed to be as barrier-free as possible within the scope of technical feasibility. During the upcoming university-wide website relaunch, the aim will be to further adapt the frame layout and provide for barrier-free access. Earlier adjustments to the design of the website than that planned would represent a disproportionate burden on Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz as defined in Art. 7 Par. 3 LGGBehM, thus making it currently exempt from the obligation to provide the barrier-free access specified in Art. 7 Par. 1 LGGBehM.
