Yana Prinsloo M.A.

PhD Student | Bodies and Performances

I am a research assistant in the project “Staging Differences” and at the Department for Film, Theater, Media and Cultural Studies (FTMK) at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. I studied theater studies and musicology in Mainz and Vienna. My master thesis on processes of judgment and opinion formation in contemporary theater was published by Tectum-Verlag in 2017.

My research interests

I conduct research on work discourses in contemporary theater in the independent scene, on the associated interdependencies of invisible and visible work in the artistic and social field. My research interests include
production and cultural-political issues of theatre work, gender studies, dance, as well as immersive and participatory art forms.
