Nikola Schellmann M.A.

Research Associate

As a member of the “Responsive Science Communication II” subproject, I will oversee the SFB’s outreach efforts, collaborations, and joint events with educational and cultural institutions. I am developing an outreach strategy for the SFB’s projects designed to reach diverse target audiences.

Most recently, I worked in the fields of communication and networking within the context of the performing arts for young audiences, where I managed supporting programs at festivals, collaborations, and publications nationwide, with a focus on diversity sensitivity and anti-discrimination. I curate and moderate discussion events where people engage in conversation about the performing arts, academia, and culture – and also about the structures within which these emerge.

I studied theater studies and comparative linguistics at JGU until 2011 and subsequently served as a research assistant in the theater studies department of FTMK (Institute for Film, Theater, Media, and Cultural Studies) until 2017. In 2017–2018, I attented the university course in Curating in the Performing Arts in Salzburg/Munich, and in 2023, I completed the workshop series Intersectional Event Management offered by the #strongertogether network.
