Maik Wiesen M.Sc.

PhD Student | Bodies and Performances

I am a research associate in the Collaborative Research Center 1482 “Studies in Human Differentiation” (CRC 1482) and a PhD student at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. I completed a BA in sociology at Heidelberg University and an MSc in medical anthropology at the University of Oxford. I have also worked as a tutor and assistant researcher at the Max Weber Institute in Heidelberg, where I supported the teaching and research operations of the Department of Methods of Empirical Social Research and Social Structure Analysis. My doctoral research focuses on sexuality and disability and uses conversation analysis as well as ethnographic methods to research sexual education counseling services for people with disabilities.
